December Recap....

This will be the first of many catch up posts. Here are pictures from when it snowed. I was at work but Brian was lucky enough to be able to stay at home with Travis. At first, Travis did not like the snow. He did not like that it was falling on him and getting his jacket wet. When I got home we went back outside and he threw a few snowballs. The pictures are out of order......

16 weeks

16 week picture with Travis. His new thing is to run up behind us, grab our legs and yell "gotcha!" It practically knocks me over. That's what he was doing here.

Brian was working on getting the electronic gate hooked up. I was having a tough time keeping Travis in the house. I went to our closet to get empty hangers and when I came back through the house, this is what I saw through our door that was wide open...........

Hey..... at least he put his shoes on!

October Recap

I am not updating as much as I want but here is a summary of what went on in October...

Brian welded on Willie's BBQ pit and Travis enjoyed being outside....

Our Family Reunion in Brenham. They rent the carousel every year for he kiddos to ride on. Here he is riding with his cousin Rachael and Aunt Katie....

Brian (and Travis) put in our walkway. We were going to be having people over for my cousin's bridal shower. I think it looks great! I don't have a picture of the finished product because it started raining right after Brian finished......

Bridal shower for my cousin Lisa. She is getting married in Mexico this month! I am so happy for her and Thomas.....

Travis and Brian were gone for most of the shower. Brian took Travis to Chick-fil-a to eat. Then they went to the car wash and Travis said, "I went to Chick-fil-a and now the car wash... this is awesome!" He really thought it was awesome when they went to the movies to see Astro Boy. They came back to the house and Travis got to play with Sam for a little bit.
Racheal's First Birthday Party

Beverly had a great party planned and Travis had a good time.

Trick or Treating with Cousin's Emily and Megan in Pearland

Travis did really well at yelling "Trick or treat" when he went up to a door. I had to keep reminding him to wait till they opened the door to say it. :) He also remebered to say thank you. This was his first time trick or treating. Poor guy had some stomach issues and we had to take his costume off and put it back on about 5 times!

Potty Trained!!

We started trying to potty train Travis a long time ago. It worked perfectly.... if he was completely naked. If we put anything on him, he would have an accident. Many people said that if we continue to let him have accidents, he would get tired of being wet and learn to go on the potty. I should have known with Travis' stubborn nature that that would not work. It did not bother him one bit to walk around with wet pants. So we decided to hold off for a while as we moved. His day care provider, Mrs. Janice, was working with 3 kids on potty training and asked us for several changes of clothes and underwear. We also decided to try agian at home. This time he must have been ready. He has done so well with very few accidents. He still wears a pull up at night and wakes up dry about half of the time. What we need to work on now is standing while he pees. He HAS to strip down and sit backwards on the potty. When he is at the house and running around in his underwear- no problem. When we are out and about it is not so easy. One step at a time.... Until then, we are so proud of our baby boy.

Big News

I tried hard to get a good picture of Travis' new shirt. I think between the two pictures you can tell what it says.

Travis is going to be a big brother! Our due date is April 21st. We are excited and feel so blessed. Currently I am 9 weeks pregnant and feeling pretty good. We announced the news to our family last week, and on Monday a "guess who is pregnant" e-mail was sent out at school. My next doctor's appointment is at the beginning of October.

Revisiting blogging and hoping to stay...

Now that I am getting ready for the start of another school year, I am finally starting activities that I have always anticipated. One of my professional goals this school year is to use more technology in the classroom. I was lucky enough to get a Promethean Board in my room and we have access to all kind of other gadgets, including ipods, gps things, activotes, etc. Today I had a training on the board and then met with my team. After we met, I decided to see if I could set my classroom blog up since I want that to replace a paper newsletter. I thought the kids could update it weekly to keep their parents informed on what was going on. I was having fun playing with the backgrounds and tailoring the blog to our school's theme this year. When I got home I wanted to add a background to the previous boring template I had. Here is what I have some up with so far. I need to find a cute banner to display our family picture and the title of the blog. Speaking of which, I don't like the current name. Any ideas? Hopefully soon I can be quick about taking pictures of Travis and them posting them fairly quickly. Right now- only words. Kind of boring but I'm getting there.....

Last night Travis and I met Mom and Katie for dinner. They graciously accepted to keep Travis overnight so I could get some sleep and then meet the propane people at our new house. They said they needed me to show them where the hot water heaters were. Really?!?! They're that hard to find in an empty attic of a new house? Anyhow, I was able to meet them with Brian and then make it to my training on time this morning. Thanks Mom and Katie! The break was nice. My goal for the next post is to include a picture! :) Well, heck, I thought since Travis is still occupied and not banging on the computer with his feet (which he occasionally does while I'm trying to type) I would find a picture and see how to post it. Here is Travis doing what he did most of the summer- riding on his tractor and playing in the dirt at the barn. We're almost there! We should be able to start moving in early next week. Just in time for school. Sigh....

A Blog- Finally!

Here is my first attempt at blogging. I've seen numerous blogs that document their family's day to day moments. I am attending a class right now on blogging and hopefully can get this going. How special would it be for Travis to have this record when he is older?!?
